The Conquest of Berlin - 1945 by EduardoLeon The Conquest of Berlin - 1945 by EduardoLeon
After bloody fighting in the streets of Berlin, the Soviets captured the city. The Reichstag fell on May 2, 1945.

Loaded with symbolism, the scene in question refers to a photograph taken on top of the Reichstag, by Yevgeny Khaldei. The photographer edited the image by removing the clocks of soldiers, objects looted during the invasion. (I kept the watches on drawing, as in the original image).

The photograph of Khaldei became one of the most important images of the war, and I could not but represent it here.

I used pencil 6B, 4B and HB. (Canson A3)

I wouldn't like to compare. But I'm not very worried about only Germans! I'm concerned about all the other nations. Those robbed by the Germans have been somewhat compensated. Who has compensated those victims of the Soviets around the world?

Are you joking? Those murdered because they were democrats, because they were religious, because they were the wrong ethnic group, those killed in the KGB's GuLag department, I mean, we are talking millions and millions of innocent people. Don't tell me you didn't know this!

I know that "commie atrocities" are inflated theme and 99% of it is made-up bullshit.
- Democrats - namely, whom? "White Guard", or dissidents affiliated with Western political powers? Those "democrats" were public enemies of USSR and Socialism, though it wasn't democracy they rooted for but power.
- Religious people - Soviets purged priesthood (which deserved it!), but why would one believe that they killed "millions and millions of innocent religious people"? If anything, they did it figuratively, by explaining that god is nothing but excuse to keep them obedient to "elites". Everything else is just tales told by priests, parasites that fear losing their power over minds.
- Ethnic groups - are you kidding me? Communists are internationalists by definition; in the worst case, they don't care about ethnicity of those they kill.
- GULag - do you have balls to state that every prisoner in USSR was innocent? Or that innocent prisoners only existed there? Do you think that post-Revolution and post-War periods of turmoil didn't affect crime rate?

Before you argue, you could at least do some research to find out that KGB had nothing to do with GULag. Otherwise, you just make a fool of yourself.

You blocked me? Coward!
Oh, of course, it's me who is brainwashed, and totally not you.
Well, perhaps, we DID murder millions (counting those Axis troops that invaded our lands). Now question: who didn't? What is worse - killing thousands for sake of better life for whole society, or doing the same in the name of few men's already insane wealth growing further?
